According to the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (PADEP), food, grass clippings, leaves, brush, wood chips, and the like, which make up most organic waste accounts for more than one third of all trash targeted for Pennsylvania landfills. However, Pennsylvania has currently imposed a ban on all yard waste from being deposited in landfills. Operational costs borne by State and Local Municipalities to collect, sort and transport the remaining waste (e.g. food waste) to landfills is, to some extent, passed back to local residents in the form of local taxes.
Arborganic Acres intends to ease this environmental and financial impact by offering an alternative means of processing otherwise unusable organic material into environmentally friendly, marketable products for local use. LOCALLY OBTAINED nitrogen-rich sources (food, grass clippings, leaves, leafy brush, etc.) are combined with carbon sources (wood chips) in an aerated static pile which, over a short period, are biologically converted into MADE-ON-SITE, nutrient-rich compost and mulch. We do not buy or resell either product from other sources. The overall composting process may be stated as taking “From the Earth” and giving back “To The Earth.”
