Arborganic Acres is responding to the current environmental dilemma through its state-of-the-art composting facility that is combining waste products from arboriculture and farming industries with food waste (fruit, vegetables and grains), collected locally, to produce earth-friendly mulches, soil additives and erosion control materials, all useable locally. This is accomplished by utilizing technological advancements and proprietary innovations all of which are compliant with current DEP (Department of Environmental Protection) requirements and are neighbor-friendly.
According to the DEP, food, grass clippings, leaves, brush, wood chips, and the like, which make up most organic waste, created or collected locally, accounts for more than one third of all trash targeted for Pennsylvania landfills. However, Pennsylvania has currently imposed a ban on all yard waste from being deposited in landfills. Operational costs borne by State and Local Municipalities to collect, sort and transport the remaining waste (e.g. food waste) to landfills is, to some extent, passed back to local residents in the form of local taxes.
Arborganic Acres intends to ease this environmental and financial impact by offering an alternative means of processing otherwise unusable organic material into environmentally friendly, marketable products for local use.
“From the earth, to the earth” might be an appropriate way of stating this objective.
